CALL THE VET NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is probably have gastric problems due to having his food switched (especially if it was not done over a 10 day span), but that much blood in that small of a dog is serious. He has to see a vet now.

It appears that you slowly changed the food as should. The small amount of chocolate might be part of the problem. There is no way to know how any dog will tolerate chocolate, but that should not have caused the bloody stool.

Blood in stool can mean he ingested a foreign object that is actually causing internal bleeding. Whip and hook worms cause bloody stool and are serious. Dogs do eat some strange things. Animal Planet vet show is featuring this topic Tuesday night!

I must question why you have not already called your vet about this? Seriously, no one here can be sure or treat your dog. There is nothing OTC you would even want to try. Bloody stool is not to be ignored and sure your vet is open in morning. Good luck and hope it isn't serious.

It sounds to me like it may be the Parvo Virus
You sound get the dog to the vet right away
Parvo is a very harmful sometimes deadly virus...it is also very contagious to other dogs.
You need to make sure to clean and disinfect the area's that he as pooped in.
One of the best ways to clean it is to garbage the poo....then spray a diluted mixture of bleach and water over the area to kill the germs. Good Luck

Get him to an emergency clinic. Call ahead and ask if they would like you to bring in a stool sample because they will need to run tests. It will probably be expensive to run a lot of test so try to get some money together. I went through a different serious thing with my puppy I was raising to be a guide dog and with a 50% discount it was of 1500 dollars. I hope it isnt serious!!! Good Luck!

This is a very serious situation. Take your dog to an emergency vet. If you don't he could bleed to death.
