Basically cheap brand soaps can cause it. Or even another way it's caused is from conditioner getting on Ur shoulders and chest when ur washing ur hair. The conditioner can clog the pores on ur body. They have a product out there called panoxyl. It's one of the most recommended products by dermatologist. They recommend that u wash the infected area with it and let it sit there for a few minutes and wash it off. You should start to see some results. Or neutrogena makes a body wash for body acne but it can dry out ur skin instead of actually healing it. Hope this helped.

I'm no dermatologist, but I've had my share of body acne. It seems like it's caused by the same triggers as face acne -- hormones, stress, diet, oil, etc.
Don't feel weird about body acne. The way I see it, anywhere you have skin, you can have a zit. And it's not just you!
Be sure you're using something on your skin. If your skin is dry (and in the winter, it probably is), stay away from astringents and harsh formulas like proactive. You know your skin best. So depending on your skin, you might need a product with moisturizing properties.
And you know, if your acne is severe enough to cause pain or scarring, see a specialist! There are some great prescriptions out there. Some gels I really liked when I had this problem were Retin-A and Tazorac (both pretty harsh).
Best of luck!

Cheap store brand soaps cause acne. Acne is a direct result of clogged pores that become infected and form little microcosims of bacteria.
If you use Tallow based Soaps such as Ivory, Irish Spring, etc. Then you are using animal-fat based soaps that have their Glycerine removed. Tallow based soaps are well known pore cloggers. The reason companies use tallow based animal-lard ingredients is because it is cheaper. Most specifically, these same companies are the ones making a fortune selling people acne treatments to try and treat the condition their other products are directly CAUSING!
Switch to Castile Based Vegan Soaps, these are real soaps, not synthetic detergent junk. I recommend Dr. Bronners, if Acne is a problem, he makes a Tea Tree Oil variant that is sure to clean up Acne.

Same triggers as facia acne. Of course sweat and bad hygiene will def. add to it. When I was yonger I use to get it on my chest pretty bad if I wore shirts with high necks for more than a few days at a time. I never really sweat so I was shocked that this agrivated it, but wearing lower cut (not slutty) stuff fixed it. Now I SCRUB my back, neck, chest, and arms for awhiiiile when I bath. It def. helps. They have bod cleansers for acne.
