Strep is very contagious. Untreated strep throat can cause rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever can cause permanent damage to the heart and heart valves. It can also lead to sterility. You need to see a doctor - find a free or low cost clinic.

Go see a doctor, strep throat isn't something that could be killed so easily. Plus, don't use Keflex to treat strep throat, because it won't work, the puss is growing in your throat, not pimples on your face, back, etc.
A powerful antibiotic against strep throat and other throat infections is amoxicillin, if you go to the doctor, you'll more than likely be prescribed this, depends which you're diagnosed with first, viral or bacterial. Nevertheless, see your doctor, it's not something a simple advil or tylenol could fix. I remember in the 7th grade I had it for a month long before I decided to do anything about it (I hate going to the doctor).

Not much help on Keflex. If it's an anti-biotic, it probably can't hurt. Also take vitamin C, and Echinacea (which helps build your immune system). Also cranberry juice is good....it will help wash
bacteria from your system
Echinacea works the best when you take it when you first notice something coming on...start with 800 units, then take 400 every day....and don't take for long periods of time....after six
weeks your body builds an immunity to it...have to stop for awhile......but it does help.
If your sore throat doesn't leave in 10 days, you need to get to
a doctor, insurance or not. If you have to go to a family clinic...or just tell a doctor you have no insurance ....you can find
someone to see you. Sometimes it will go on its own
in 10 days. You can also gargle salt water which is
healing.

Doctors will tell you that you are supposed to take an antibiotic from start to finish, even if you feel better. That label usually appears on the prescription bottle as well. But, something I have done (when I couldn't afford going to the doctor) is to call a local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist regarding medication questions. They'll probably tell you what I just did. Better yet, is there not a clinic that will see you? Strep throat can be dangerous if left untreated. If you are employed, there are some clinics that will see you based on your income, on a sliding scale fee.

No. Strep throat is a very serious condition. It has to be treated with antibiotics. If left untreated you can get rheumatic fever and as a result heart problems. If you don't have medical insurance Just go to the emergency room and get treated. They will send you the bill in the mail. Hope you feel better.

I have Strep Throat right now too. I've never heard of Keflex before. I got Penicillin and Vicodin from the emergency room which is working great, but before I went to the doctor and my throat hurt REALLY bad, my boyfriend gave me 3 tablets of Motrin and it helped a great deal. It's anti-inflammatory.

Well it wont hurt to take that but not to much you can use taht will make it go away only to comfort it.Warm water and salt is somewhat good. You can use some of the basic throat lozngers over the counter. Most sore thorats will go away with in a couple of days. I find that many say dont use this med. But Motrin really helps me alot. It is something you can take over the counter. It is like a asprin. I am not saying that you should use it but it works wonders for me in many ways of pain. Hope you feel better

You should not have any Keflex left over if you followed the Doctor's directions on taking it in the first place...
Go to a doctor.. find a free clinic or something.

Most strep is viral and can not be helped with antibiotics. However, most doctors will prescribe antibiotics just to be on the safe side. I don't endorse taking drugs for things they weren't prescribed for. If you are going to take it, make sure it's not expired.
Whoever gave me a tumbs down needs help. NOT ALL STREP IS BACTERIAL!!!!!!!!!! Most strep is viral, doctors prescribe antibiotics because it's easier than trying to test which kind it is. My son has a slight immune deficiency and catches everything, he's had it 3 times. I would try to treat it myself, the cranberry juice suggestion was great. If it doesn't seem to be getting better after a few days go to the doctor. Strep isn't going to kill you in 3 days people!

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.
Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.
