I just fostered a great dane and they do shed. Here is a link to a site about dogs who shed LESS than others. There is no dog that does not shed at all. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/lightshedders.htm

Poodles definitely do not shed - their coat is more a wool than hair. This also makes them ideal for people with allergies to dog hair.
We had one when our asthmatic son was growing up & they were great together.
Unfortunately in at one stage they earned a reputation for not being very bright. This is positively NOT TRUE. At the time some people thought of them as a status symbol & didn't have a clue about raising dogs.
They are very intelligent and need strict & consistent training while they are young. They very quickly get the message and are one of the easiest, reliable and nicest natured dogs I've ever trained. They are excellent with children and a great addition to the family.
They come in about three sizes. The tiny toy, the miniature about the size of a big terrier & standard are biiiiiiiiiiig like setters or afgans.

Standard poodles and Airedale terriers are large breeds that do not shed. But the biggest non-shedding breeds I can think of are probably the giant schnauzer and bouvier des flandres.
Keep in mind that any non-shedding breed is going to require a LOT of regular grooming and clipping. Also make sure that the breed you choose matches your lifestyle in other ways too, not just by the fact that it doesn't shed.

Giant Schnauzer is the biggest non shedder that I can think of, but there is really no such thing as a non shedding dog, some just shed less than others. You could also consider an Irish Wolfhound, but they do shed a fair amount (more than a Giant Schnauzer).

You can get a big stuffed animal, that is about it because ALL dogs shed to some extent.

Depends do you want a non-shedding dog that requires constant grooming or one that doesn't. If you want one that isn't going to cost you an arm and leg in grooming fees try a Mexican Hairless.

Standard size Poodles are the only ones I can think of - a friend of mine was allergic to dog hair and they were able to own a poodle.
Rotties do shed - I owned one.

A greate dane or a Doberman Pinscher.
Dobermans are great, I have owned like 30 of them. They dont shed, and are very lovable, and protecting. You should really look into them.
