The bigger question I have is why God saw it as justifiable to kill every man, woman, child, and beast in the cities who had sinned against him, when the bible says that he is a God of love, and forgiveness. I know that according to the bible all children will automatically go to heaven, but why deny them the gift of life because of what their parents did?

God allows these bad things to happen because of our choices to do so and he protects when we ask or someone asks for us. He uses these gruesome deaths to make good things come about every time. The bible says every human must go through sorrows so we can become stronger and more like Jesus eventually. We all have to die once and there is an afterlife waiting for us all. He does protect many people but he has a perfect plan for all creatures and sometimes he uses these horrible things to carry out his plans.

No, people are not given the right to murder. It's a choice. Like I chose to plop my rather large backside down and look at the computer, people chose to murder their children. They don't have to, they don't need to but they do anyway. God protects those who worship him, yes and no... It's hard to explain. I was protected by God in my car accident. However, God didn't protect the woman in the other car. Why God allows some to be hurt and others not to be is something that I'm not meant to understand. I just know that we all make choices, and sometimes... those choices aren't the best ones possible.

The question under consideration is whether the doctrine of free will makes God anything less than absolutely sovereign. I believe that it does not. The fact that the decree of God is all inclusive, including both man's freedom and his free acts, is enough to maintain the sovereignty of God with respect to his decree. The fact that God's control is absolute in the sense that he is the creator of all, and that the limitation with respect to man's will is self imposed also shows that God is sovereign. That God's knowledge of man's free acts is both complete and independent also means that God is sovereign.
Free will and sovereignty are not incompatible, as the critics of the doctrine of free will seem to suggest. Free will does not in an a priori fashion preclude the absolute sovereignty of God. The final answer must come from the revealed Scriptures. Only there may we learn whether man actually does have free will, and whether God actually is the Sovereign Lord.

I do not follow any religion, Yet I do believe in God and an afterlife, and individual spirits, as we are.
The answer to your question, in my opinion, is that God knows that the babies or people that are "murdered", don t really die. They leave the physical body and go Home to the spirit world. So there is no worry. For there is no death. Transition, such as in energy being converted from water to smoke. The soul may need time to recover from the memory, yet is safe completely , as they are away from physical negative beings.
I believe we are observers. Always existing within the moment of Now. To me , this is proof that we continue to exist , when we convert from the physical to the spiritual.

If you understand the Christian faith, you should know that we believe that mankind has fallen. Because of this, we currently live in a period of time where very bad things happen in our world. This is not a permanent condition, but will someday end when Christ returns to set up his kingdom. At that time we will all be judged for our actions, each and every one of us. So yes, God does allow things to happen, but it's a temporary situation, and the day is coming when there will be no more of that evil.

Being given a "right" and being given an "ability" are two slightly different things that might help you understand why God gave people the abilities He did. These extreme examples of sin will be punished for eternity, but you'll just have to wait to see it personally.

Come on, who told you he was the protector of the world? When he had that deal with the Israelites, he protected them as long as they kept their end of the bargain.
Since Jesus, we have a new deal. Death is no longer that important because we have eternal life. God and his computers in Heaven have a reconstruction formula for every entity on Earth. God is offering you eternal life, what else do you want from him?

Protector ? Where do you get that ? Even Jesus warned of consequences, not of protection, for children who are harmed. If God was protecting us, don't you think there would be no abortions ?
