Drontal will not treat Giardia. I have had the best luck with Fenbendazole (also called Safeguard or Panacur), but Giardia can be extremely hard to treat so it may take a few treatments. You can also use Metronidazole (also called Flagyl), but I have not had very good luck with it. Also, on the last day of treatment be sure to pick up all of the puppy's poop, clean all of the carpets (if the puppy has had accidents), and give the puppy a bath.

Also, Giardia is a protozoa, not a worm, so dewormers (like Drontal) will not affect the protozoa.

Drontal is used to clean out parasites, all worms. It is broad spectrum to get them all at once. However, I would wonder if he might want to add Metronidazole to aid in healing the gut also. Just a idea. If stool is very loose and continues to have no form, really watery I would call and ask about this. It helps to heal a sick stomach and digestion of food and firm up the stool.
