First make sure that they removed those outstanding accounts from your credit score. If so, you can begin building credit by getting a new credit card, getting added to someone else's credit card, getting a small loan, or if you have money to invest you could open a CD with a bank and have them open a loan and use the CD as collateral. All of these options will help you get back on the road to recovery.

Get a secured credit card from a bank or credit union. Pay it on time. It will probably take a year or two of very good behavior, but your score should start climbing.
