There are a number of options you can follow here:
For windows:
---------
1) Use Sound Recorder Accessory to convert audio files among different formats. Open the file in sound recorder, click on file > properties select convert and select the format you want. Please note your capabilities here are limited (Low quality mp3, wmv and wav + some other formats)
2) For full audio edition capabilities and also to change formats, please download Audacity from http://Audacity.sf.net (it is GPLed free software)
For GNU/ Linux
===========
You can use lame, mencoder, sox, ... may many options are available. A number of conversion options are available, too many to describe here. See the man pages of the above for details.
Hope it helps

Plenty of convertors are available. Go to google.com and find out which one you want. Some are freeware and some are sharware. Some you have to buy after a trial period. Find out which convertor you want and get it.
