The law believes that people who are not yet eightteen do not have enough knowledge and experience to make truly reasoned decisions in some areas, such as how to handle porn. Pornography isn't just about sex being a human imperative or showing off your body, it's about fantasies of human interaction, some of which can be pretty raunchy. The law thinks that minors are not able to distinguish randy fantasy from real life. People can debate whether that's true or not (I doubt it myself), but that's the attitude underlying the law.

I nor anyone else I know would want our children experimenting with other peoples body parts.

I know 5 girls that had babies before they graduated high school. NOT one of them has the original father in the house.

I know 10 people with STDs. All before they were 18.

I know 2 people who committed suicide because they broke up with their “love.”

To stick lewd pictures in from of children or young adults is stupid. Each person on this planet progresses into maturity at different rates. By 17 or 18 hopefully they have the brain capacity to know what is right and wrong. How to protect themselves and keep their health safe.

I’m personally glad laws are in place like this. Children need to have time to be children and NOT have the increased pressures of adulthood to soon.
