Christian by nature is good ..... it is just some christians who chose to push it down to others' throat and literally curse others' when they do not accept.
Hence Christianity is suffering from bad reputation.

Hey! I'm Catholic and I do find that there is a decrease in Christian popularity. We just read an article in class regarding religion, in general, about how religion is slowly decreasing. I just think that people, including religious leaders, make bad decisions here and there. What's sad about it is that since they are rather iconic, and because religion has been a touchy subject, the effects of their actions are much more dramatic and unexpected. There has been a decline within Christianity. Criticism and controversy are possible reasons of it. Only the fact that there is little scientific fact about the religion could've contributed to it's current situation. I think that the purpose of even having a religion, whichever one you choose or are born into, is to believe without question. I believe that most humans need to believe something. Whatever that something may be is upon the individual's choice and opinion on the matter. Hope this helped.

Christianity requires following a doctrine of peace, love and repression of certain animalistic actions. The way that the US is in this day and age allows people, especially the youth, to disregard repression of these actions, grasp what they want no matter the consequence to others and to love only in the physical sense. It is a much easier yet less rewarding way to live. I would have to say that human frailty and mass media has brought Christianity to this place but at least they are still helping to feed all of those fools who dropped out of school and can't support themselves while following the life of self indulgence. The Christians are also not, at least no yet, murdering women and children in the name of some archaic godhead.
I'm agnostic by the way but would take a Christian over anybody else including an atheist any day of the week.

I am an Orthodox Christian and I feel our faith is suffering from many things. Foremost is the failure to take seriously the teachings of Christ . Most mouth the words but then fail to put his words to work for them . Why America though a predominately Christian country still has homeless and starving people , not to mention locking up millions of people for non violent drug offenses . The radicals and perverters of our religion also play a major part . This is not exclusive to our faith or to Islam but those are two current and glaring examples in modern day religions . we must all watch and when needed confront the radical elements of our faiths as the willful acts of cruelty and violence towards or hatred and contempt of people is neither of God nor for him . These are acts against all true faiths and even against those of us without faith as society recognizes it

I think its a matter of perspective. There are still more christians than anyone else in the U.S., so they would probably say no. On the other hand a majority of christians aren't fundamentalist christians, this breed of christian has suffered as has fundamentalists from most other religions (specifically Islam).
Anyway most people are rational spiritual people who find it difficult to understand people that seem to follow their various beliefs irrationally.

Religion is bad, God is not. Religion is mans way to God, Christianity (not a religion) is Gods way to man. My best to you in your quest for TRUTH. In my humble opinion, only watered down stepped upon and man mad pagan gods will be found in religion. The one true religion (Judaism) was fulfilled by Christ and God works radically through those who (any color or creed or nationalityor religion) OBEY Him, the Christ. No one is an athiest. Agnostic that refuses to believe yes; but athiest who does not believe; no. Fight it with all your might if you wish, Christ died to give you the right to do just that, but like it or not, YOU DO HAVE THE MEASURE OF FAITH IN THE ONE ALMIGHTY GOD OF THE UNIVERSE and you, as I, will answer to Him. A man named Jesus will be my advocate, how about you. Yelling was needed on my part, sorry if i offended anyone.
Jesus told John the Baptist "Be not offended in me John."

I think it's because it's now linked in people's minds with Bush and his War of Terror.

I'm more influenced by that "God loves you, even as you starve to death, innocent child" part.
