I do a cardio video of low impact and high impact aerobics three or four times a week. About 30 - 50% of the time, about halfway through I develop a cramp on my right side (90% of the time right side) just under my ribs. Once it was so excruciating I had to stop exercising ... I used to get those kind of cramps while running (we're talking high school gym class), but I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to alleviate them? I am in pretty good shape, have been working out regularly for the past 7 or 8 months. Thanks in advance!

You are probably experiencing a stitch. These usually happen when your breathing isn't balanced when exercising. It doesn't matter how in shape you are, if you're not breathing properly, this will happen. Just try to concentrate a little more on breathing when you work out next. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.

I've ALWAYS had those same cramps. I especially remember them in school gym class too! I still get them when on the treadmill or exercising in other ways. I wish I could help, and I'm anxious to hear other answers!!
