everytime you drink water, that adds weight to you. drink as much as you want, water weight (altough shows up on a scale) will not show up on your body. By the morning you'll weigh 4-5 lbs less anyways. just dont drink too much or else you'll keep having to get up to use the bathroom.

The time of day for drinking water has nothing to do with retention. It is a function of your bladder size and the electrolytes (like salt) you are eating. In the long run you are peeing it as fast as you are drinking it so unless you are seriously ill that gaining of water weight is not a factor.

If you are drinking before you go to bed, you will just pee it out in the morning. the only way you retain water/fluid is if you are not drinking enough. the body stores it as it doesnt know when it will next get a drink. The more you drink the less you retain. It will also flush out any toxins in your body.
The thing I would be worried about would be getting up in the middle of the night witha full bladder

I don't know anything about water weight...but I drink a lot of water all day long...and I'm skinny...so it is proven to me that water don't make people fat. don't worry about water weight. I think that is what fat people use as an excuse.

A cup of hot milk or chocolate can do (I'd prefer hot choc ~ I'm a chocolic)... Wherever possible, skip dinner -- that 's what make us weighs more in the day afterwards. It also works for me!
