vedas were first books of hinduism. They were written in sanskrit.
There was no religion before hinduism, because hinduism started from crude form of belief and gradually matured into most sophisticated faith, by itself.
If you go through the various stages of hinduism, you can understand this. Similarity of few words does not mean that religion is derived from other faiths.
Europeans said that vedas were written by whites ( they could not accept that non-europeans were capable of such knowledge). It was later disproved by reasearchers.

Well supposedly Hinduism is derived from Zoroastrianism, at least a little. Vedas and Avesta are the most similar. The rest, unusually enough, are opposites.

Ahura Mazda (chief god in Zoroastrianism)-->Asuras (demons, in Hinduism)

Daevas (demons)-->Devas (gods)

etc. etc.
