No. The only option is if the birthfather volunteerede to relinquish paternity rights AND a new father was adopting your daughter. (When adoptions are finalized, a new birth certificate is issued.)

Why would you want to do that? In some states it can hinder you from getting child support from him. Besides removing his name doesn't disolve HIS parental rights...all he has to do is take you to court for DNA testing on his daughter. You just might want to rethink this.

I believe the only way to have him removed would be for him to sign away his parental rights. But, the courts generally require another man to be willing to adopt and assume financial responsibility for the child before allowing someone to sign away rights.

only if you go through the legal steps and have him sign off parental rights. if you can get him to sign the papers then you have every right to remove him, or prove through a dna test he is not the biological father.
