I call this concoction a glamor shampoo.1 applicator bottle 6 or 8 oz.2 oz 30 volume cream peroxide.2 oz water.2 oz shampoo.1 packet bleach lightener or 1 scoop bleach lightener that's about 31/2 tablespoons.Mix and apply over slightly damp hair ...shaft only...6 inches from scalp for 5 to 8 minutes.Rinse till you get all the suds out( no conditioner) then dry hair with blow dryer(low setting) (do not comb).
If you need to go lighter then repeat the steps starting with slightly damp hair. Then when you think it;s maybe 2 shades lighter apply to the roots for 3 to 6 minutes then apply to the shaft for 2 to three minutes then shampoo and condition. This is a gradual way to lighten dark hair without damaging the hair.We used to do this in the salon I worked at on clients who were scared of coloring their hair but wanted a little something.Work well on all types of hair as long as you keep an eye on it.If you have curly hair it will lighten faster and you may need to reduce the volume of peroxide to 20.

A few months ago I went from black to blonde with my hair.
It took 5 lots of full heads of foils to get the colour down. Don't let a hairdresser or anyone else tell you that you need to strip your hair!! It will severely damage your hair.
Be patient and have it taken down to a lighter colour gradually.

It is an expensive process, it cost me just over AU $500 but I am so happy with the results and I no longer have any black n my hair

Whatever you do - do NOT use one of those sun-in products. You will ruin your hair. If you're hard up for money, go to a beauty college - they need people to practice on and they are totally supervised. They are cheap too. Otherwise, I'd say go to a professional or you could ruin your hair. Just not worth it to take the chance. I speak from experience, hon.

you have black hair, so the only way to lighten it is bleach .. but bleach isn`t good for your hair, it can make it really brittle, it could burn your scalp or also fall out. make sure you don`t bleach it too much though.

You don't need to use any home products. Bleach is going to be your best bet, but home hair jobs usually have bad results
