Yes, and by the by, the LDS Church (Mormons) are also Christians while Buddhists are polytheistic. The Jewish religion is not Christ centered so they shouldn't be included in your analogy even though they are a Western (monotheistic) religion.
Hope this helps

Lutheran, Methodist, etc... are all Protestant denominations. Protestants are non-Catholic, begun in "protest" to the Catholic Church. Christianity developed first amongst the Jews, Jesus was a Jew as were his disciples. However, over time the differences became too great and Christianity became more and more structured and separate from the Jewish roots. Christians still consider the Old Testament to be a part of their history and testimony of God's relationship with His people, but Jews do not consider Jesus to be the Messiah.
Buddhism is completely different, and although Buddhists generally respect other religions and teachings, they don't percieve Jesus to be the Son of God. Mormons are a relatively recent religion and although they try to lump themselves in with Christianity in general, they believe some distinctly non-Biblical stuff, and much of it was made up by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. They believe that Joseph Smith got all the stuff from an angel, and from some tablets. They believe the Book of Mormon is "another testament."

The four religious philosophies you have mentioned are all denominations of the much broader faith, Christianity. While Catholicism is also considered a denomination of Christianity, it is a much larger and more independent denomination. Mormonism, on the other hand, is not a denomination of Christianity at all, for not even the most obscure religious directories will include Mormonism under the category of "Christianity." It is considered by its followers to be a reformation of mainstream Christianity, not a denomination. Its detractors just call it a cult.
Hope that helps you out.

No, Buddhism and Mormonism are completely seperate from Christianity. Baptists believe that Baptismial involvance is a huge part in the entrance to Heaven, or that the way I understand it. Just like Pentecostals believe in the gifts of the Spirit. They all have something different about them, but basically, every denomination in the Christian religion shares the same belief and purpose, which is to educate and share the belief in God.

Ltherans,Methodistst, and Baptists are known as Protestants. They broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in the Reformation.
Christianity grew out of ancient Judaism, but most Jews do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah.
Mormons say that they are Christian, but believe in a lot of unbiblical things.
Buddhists have nothing to do with Christianity.

The distinctions between the Christian denominations are basically related to the notions of predestination, baptism, transubstantiation, sotierology, and eschatology. All Christian denominations believe in the divine nature of Christ as the second part of the Trinity, virgin birth, fogiveness of sins through Christ's sacrificial death, and the Final Judgment.
Other religious sects (Buddhism, Mormonism, etc.) that depart from these basic tenets of the faith are not considered Christian.

Catholics and Jewish are not the same nor do they follow the same religious ideas. Where did you ever get that from!
The central core of all christians religions is the same. A similar Bible, belief in Jesus, belief in the ressurection, belief in God. After that the practises and methods are different.
Some believe in ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED, others believe only in REPETTANCE, some believe in childhood baptism, others only in adult baptism. Some believe in Rock or R&B and other believe in Bach.

Lutherans were the original Protestants.
Methodists and Baptists are protestants that separated from the Church Of England (itself a protestant church).
There isn't that much difference.

At this point you should be well aware of the differences/similarities between these denominations/religions. With each of them holding the "truth", it may mean a closer look if you want to join/switch belief systems. A chart can be found here for some of them:
