Religions and belief systems are only mythological to those who don't subscribe. Such as the scientists who WILL not accept the rules on Pluto, hence to them, Pluto is still a planet.

All religions have mythology.
They were or are religions, however, people forget there was more to them than just the mythologies -- like there's more to Christianity than the Bible, for example.

The only religions to survive time are the ones that have harsh and violent penalties for non-believers. So most ancient religions you will find did not have dire consequences for non-believers.

because the easiest way to destroy a religion is to discredit it.
when you turn a religion into fanciful childrens stories and teach them as such then the belief in thoes gods is removed from future generations.
and the most popular religion in the world right now is hellbent on removing every other religion from the face fo the earth as they have been for the lase 1500 years.
