i own a repair shop, and the neutral safety switch is part of the ignition switch on this one,it may have went out on it,if it did it will usually start if you actually put it in neutral and hold the brake and try and start it,if you don't get nothing after trying this id say the switch is bad on it,its about time though, its a 90 model and it lasted this long so it done pretty good, but you can turn the key on,and jump it over at the the solenoid switch, and see if it starts this way,if it does,it definitely needs a new ignition switch, like i said it and the neutral switch are built together ,good luck with it ,i hope this help,s.

If its cranking over, its not the nutruel saftey switch. It sounds like your not getting spark. Take one of the spark wires and put a screw driver in it. Place the screw driver over the top of the engine on the intake. Have an assistant crank the engine and see if your getting spark. If you are, you probably flooded out the engine. If not, check the coil and wiring to the coil.

check battery, check battery connections. check ground. check connection on starter. check that starter has not come loose from block of engine since starter needs the ground from being tight against it. go ahead and put a battery charger. pull spark plug wire off and check for spark. spray starting fluid in throttle body.
