Yep-I was supposed to be 7'3", but I'm only 6'1". Just kidding...drinking coffee will not stunt your growth. You may get an acid stomach, though

FishRN makes some good points. I'd just like to add that maybe the "myth" that caffeine/coffee stunts growth is not what you should really be concerned about. Caffeine is a nervous system stimulant. While there are some positive consequences of drinking caffeine containing beverages like coffee (including being more alert, and according to some studies having more physical stamina), any stimulant has the potential to make you very jittery and nervous. As with most stimulants, there is an inverse "U" curve: increasing stimulant intake may help you focus and concentrate, but only to a point. Beyond that point you lose focus because you become so nervous and jittery. One or two cups of coffee a day should be enough to get your mind going in the morning. If you start to drink more than that you could eventually become addicted to caffeine. And caffeine also is a diuretic, meaning you lose water and with it also mineral nutrients.

Everything stunts growth now a days.

but apparently coffee does. I never drank and still don't because I'm only 5 3 and I'm hoping for a growth spurt. my doctor said I'll be growing until I'm 21 since I'm so small....so lets hope!

The Framingham study, a thirty year study of a group consuming coffee, came up with no such finding.
