it was found that cows put out more carbon and methan then made made products, but why is it that everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that the sun is getting hotter and is more active now then it has been in the past ? The sun hotter earth hotter duh !?

what i am asking is not weather or not global warming is happening, i think it the earth cycles thru these things but the fact the the sun is getting warmer and is more active , why are all the nut jobs that ignore that and say only man is the culprit another fact is that cows manufacture more emissions then manmade things do what are we suppose to kill all the cows get real understand the sun is the major deal here but it happens in the 1940-1970s they claimed the earth was cooling now al gore wants to invent another thing like the internet !

Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leaders use it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. This issue is 99% political, and an attempt to make the USA a socialist nation, and eventually communisim. WAKE UP AMERICA, IT IS TIME TO BE AMERICANS. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE. STOP THE LIES

Phoenix--
Your right, and the holes left behind by NASSA are also allowing aliens to enter our atmosphere and plant clones among us. Be afraid be very afraid, and trust no one.

To answer the question-
No i don't believe that global warming is man made. The earth has been going thought periods of heating and cooling for millions of years, but i guess that you already know that. Cows produce methane which has a far more heat carrying capacity than CO2 so therefore is a much worse greenhouse gas. However since most people think cows and other large herbivores as natural, organic bla bla bla, they will dismiss this point. And we have been killing cows for years now and we haven't seem to put a dent in the total population.

As for Al Gore, people will believe what they want to believe, even when it comes from a politician and the mass media.

You of course have been ingesting the kool-help. The scientific objection to worldwide warming is that it is not guy-brought about as that's being purported via the liberal spin device. Al Gore has been attacked for his use of a private jet considering's hypocritical to his own place.

Seventy million tons of greenhouse gas DAILY into the atmosphere is nothing to sneeze at.

We are screwing ourselves over for a buck.
Shooting ourselves in the herd.
Stepping on our own ducks.
Cutting off our nose to spite our finch.
Kicking ourselves in the asparagus beetle.

For the almighty dollar we're ruining it for everybody and everything, and people who deny it are three fries short of a Happy Meal.
Have a nice day.

It's not about the sun-getting hotter and the earth is getting hotter, it's the polar-ice caps that are melting because of the sun's heat. I believe global-warming is real, and I don't think we can stop it.

The world goes through hot and cold cycles, naturally. Do you remember the land bridge between Alaska and Russia? It went under water because of many years of hot weather. At that time we did not even have fossil fuel !

the sun is hotter because the ozone layer is damaged. that is why we need more sunscreen and shades that protect us from stronger ultra violet rays.

although we do contribute a lot to the ongoing damage, to the ozone layer, space travel has been doing it's share.......don't you think? they use literally tons of fuel to catapult those vessels through the ozone layer and past earths gravity. each trip punctures an irreparable hole so that we have intermittent patches where we are more susceptible to pure, ravaging UV rays. now picture one or more of these patches bearing down on the Arctic or the Antarctic. this is where i leave a little to the imagination.

The scientists are NOT ignoring the change in solar radiation. They measure it carefully. Many people in many places. The data is solid, and here it is, on page 4.

http://www.ipcc.ch/SPM2feb07.pdf

The increase in solar radiation is 0.12 watts per meter squared. The increase in warming due to man's activities is 1.6 watts per meter squared. Changes in solar radiation are not a major cause of global warming.

Are you going to ignore the real data?

There is a natural carbon cycle that recycles carbon dioxide. We're overwhelming that process. We dig up carbon the natural cycle buried over millions of years and burn it, real fast.

This data shows the result.

http://scrippsco2.ucsd.edu/graphics_gallery/mauna_loa_record/mlo_record.html

The little teeth are the natural cycle doing its' thing. CO2 goes down in summer when plants are active and up in winter. The large trend upwards is us, burning fossil fuels.

Al Gore can go away. But since he has absolutely nothing to do with the science, the hard data won't. Which is why scientists who go by scientific proof, not wild assertions, believe global warming is real and caused by us.

"there is a scientific consensus on the reality of anthropogenic climate change. Climate scientists have repeatedly tried to make this clear. It is time for the rest of us to listen."

http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/nation/16620307.htm

"the question of global warming was settled years ago for all but a few holdouts in the scientific community"

Unfortunately, we're kicking nature's butt on this one.
