Restoring a car can take years and cost $100k. You need to learn the basics first. The value of old cars is originality and proper repairs. Improperly done repairs or restoration work will make the car worthless. I think at this point you're talking about "fixing the car up" not "restoring" it. Unless you have the tools to pull the engine, lift off the body, let in new sheet metal, etc., you're not ready to start a restoration. Go on eBay and find an old Motor repair manual for this year, it will tell you a lot. Also look for a factory repair manual, which may be harder to find, and cost more, it will tell you everything you could possibly need to know. ...
