my bmi is 22 but i still feel fat and gross regardless of what the doctors say. i found a place in mexico that will do the procedure regardless of bmi. has anyone had lap band done? what do you think? does it even work? thanks!

My cousin had it done. It really worked. She lost a lot of weight, but her BMI was higher than yours. Maybe for your BMI it is not safe to have the lap band, especially if doctors say you do not weigh enough. You feel fat and gross? Well most of the people in the world do. Diet and exercise are key. Drink plenty of water - ditch the pop. Eat in small quantities throughout the day, and take walks around the block and try some cardio work outs, yoga, or pilates. Sure go ahead, the USA is overpopulated anyway, a little Darwinistic culling of the herd would be good.
Your BMI is actually below normal for a female, sounds like an eating disorder.

Don't be so foolish. If your doctors say no, don't you think they are educated enough to know? If you still feel fat, start working out. Get some exercise and eat healthy foods. This will always work better than any medical procedure. Always.
