The only way to fill out the form on the PC is to buy software like PDF2Word that will convert the file into a .doc file that word or excel
will open.

Hmm..

Maybe you need an updated Adobe Reader. I generally can. Um.. maybe you just need to properly position the hand in the actual typeable fields until the hand turns into the... text cursor thingee?

However, I should warn: at best (unless you paid the big bucks for Adobe *Acrobat*) you won't be able to *Save* your text as a pdf file, but you can at least print it. Alternatively, fill out, hit "Prnt Scr" and Edit>Paste the image file into an image editor like Paint (MS or Mac), but you'll only get as much as appears on the screen...

What I end up doing is:
download the PDF and save, then print.

With my Visioneer scanner, I could scan it to a "Form Typer" which would let me type in appropriate places.

Since I now have an All-in-one without the Form Typer, I doanload the PDF and save, then print.
Put the printed document on the scanner and save as an image.
Open a Word document and insert the image.
Resize.
right-click, click "order" then click "send backward."
Save as a Word document
Then I create text boxes, no line, no fill, type my text
right-click the text box and click "send to front"
drag the box into place

When finished, save, then click File, Send to
you can send to a mail recipient or FAX recipient
