Quite the predicament you’re in. My advice is simple though: don’t let something like this come between you and your best friend. Loosing a friendship over a guy just sounds silly to me no matter what the case. However, what you could do is talk to your friend; if she is not okay with it, kindly tell this really cute guy your situation. If he’s reasonable, he will understand and get over it. If your friend doesn't mind, then go out with him. Friendships should last forever, so what are the chances that a long-distance romance will? If this doesn’t satisfy you, then be straight with your friend. Tell her how you like him too, and work out a solution together (and I don’t think “sharing” him would be a good one either).

1. has the guy asked you out yet? if no, why are you sure that he likes u?
2. if you r really into him, talk with your friend. if she is a real friend, then both of you can have a fair competition and promise to wish each other luck no matter who he chooses.
3. never, ever do anything under the nose of your friend. be open.
4. good luck! :)

Guys are not worth fighting over with a friend, if you want to keep said friend. But friends should be able to talk about everything. Tell her that you like him and think, maybe, he likes you also. Tell her that you really want to go out with him but don't want to risk losing her as a friend. Then ask her opinion. IF she is mature enough, she'll appreciate you honesty.

Some would say honor Hoes Over Bros.
But realize that you can't always let your friend rule your life, who you date. If this guy is into you, and not your friend, there is really nothing you can do to change that. Your friend should realize that. If she's a good friend, she'll let you date the guy. If not, then she's saying "If I can't have him, you can't either". And I don't believe thats fair, do you? No offense to your friend intended.

If you act sucky, the guy will run from you. Control the hormones, they are lying to you. If you are not decent then a decent guy will not want you. Simple.

IF she like him first don't date him. You will lose your friendship. I know its horrible .. such a cute guy. You could even put in a good word for your friend and in the end if they don't work out he can still be yours.

Don't do it. I was in that situation. I asked my friend if it was okay if we went out even though she liked him and she said "yeah, sure" What a lie. She found out that we went out and got soo mad that we haven't talked since.
