Ok. To go from brown to blond you will need a lightener (stripper) to remove the brown from your hair. It will go thru orange and red so remain calm. Depending on the shade of brown and the shade of blond you want you may have to do this 2 times. How long is your hair? Mine is waist length brown and I need 5 boxs per time that is a total of 10 boxs to go from brown to blond. It may be cheaper to go to a pro. If your hair is short go for it your self.
You will look on the box for lightner and it may say it can lighten up to 5 or 7 shades with one use. That is the stuff you need. I would do it on a weekend. Friday and then lighten again on sunday. This will give your scalp a little time to produce oil to protect itself with. You will go thru orange and red remain calm. The blond you end up with my have reddish undertones. If you want a specific blond shade you must go to a pro. Warning!! This process Will Damage your hair to some extent. But then so does any stripping.
You can just let it grow out and then you will have the blond you were born with again.

I colored my hair for years and for the last 4 I have done nothing chemical to it. My hair is now so healthy and cheap to care for I love it. I guess my advice is that unless you have a great deal of money and time to spend on coloring your hair DON"T do it. You may think your hair looks dull, but it will look ugly and cheap if you can't keep up the coloring and highlights. Brown to blond is pretty severe and it takes a great colorist to do it right. If you need a boost, go shopping and get a new lipstick or pair of shoes.

I would take it one step at a time. First. I'd try some blonde highlights (or maybe some auburn.) or think chunks of blonde throughout your hair. This will give you a preview before you totally go blonde and regret it.
