is it correct to use your mom when retorting what your brother said since you're both related?

i wouldn't. you may sound a bit retarded if you use "your mom" while insulting your brother. But there are a wide variety of other insults you can use.

The Fifth Commandment instructs you to honor your parents. Therefore, "your mother" is NEVER an acceptable retort.
