that if they have had sex before they get neutered it can kill them, is this true? He had sex about 4 days ago. The person that told me this said he could bleed to death. Someone please tell me cause now I am getting scared to take him in in the morning. Thanks

That is silly. No, it wont kill him. Neutering is a very simple non invasive procdeure that has relatively no side effects. There is always the risk of complications as with any procedure. But, i wouldnt worry. The Vets do those everyday

That is absolutly not true. A dog mating a few days ago has no effect on a nutering. Iv'e never heard such a thing. When a dog is nutered. Hes pup to sleep so hes calm for the procedure. Its not like they are cutting off his penus only his testicles. There is very, very little blood loss during this procedure. I breed dogs and help out in clinics, belive me have your dog nutered. If your still unsure go there tomorrow and talk to the tech when you get there. Im sure they'll say the same thing.

Please take your dog. I had a dog when I was a kid that had sex the day before he was neutered and he lived to be 15. That is just crazy talk that it will kill him. If you are really concerned then you should ask the vet tomorrow. Good luck.

This is untrue. I work in a vet clinic and have never seen an animal bleed to death because it had mated before the surgery.

dont worry about it your dog will be fine. i worked at a vet for over two years and never heard anything of the sort. whoever is telling you this is just . . . well . . . lying to you.
veterinarians would not perform this procedure so often if anything of the sort could go wrong. like i said, dont worry cos your dog will be fine

I would check with the vet so you feel better about your dogs safety . I don't see how that would effect anything with him being neutered. Good luck.

whoever told you that should probably see a psycologist as they are missing some screws and bolts, that is kind of a common sense question. Do you think humans die if they have sex before they get fixed? Same concept

Your dog isn't going to bleed to death. That is absurd.
And even if he were, for some strange reason, your vet wouldn't let him.

i think that only applies if you neuter him WHILE hes having sex.......
But to be sure there may not be any other complications, I would talk to the vet in the morning.
