"50 and Single."?

Question

How many other women and men are fifty (I will be in October) and currently single? Did you ever think at this age you would be?

Navigating the "single scene" at this age is laughable. If you don't hang out in bars and club and don't drink, don't want to be "fixed up" by well-meaning friends, family or co-workers, don't cruise churces, temples, synagoues, mosques, weddings or funerals, or don't subscribe to internet dating sites, then what are the options in meeting an emotionally, social, psychologially, spiritually, financially compatible equal?

For the women: Men in our age group are generally married or in a relationship, bitter and cynical following a divorce and child support payments, of questionable sexual orientation (on the "down low"), medicated with psychotropics, or looking for women much younger.

I met my husband on the internet in 1999 and we have been happily married ever since and now I'M 58.He had none of those bad characteristics you mention. He was never married, no kids,
not rich but neither am I. we both have good jobs and realize how lucky we were to find each other. I know not everybody has such good luck but this is my story. Don't give up, there is somebody for everybody.

Are you kidding me!! Fifty is a awesome age! Dont limit yourself try the places you say you dont go. Get some awesome woman friends and go out and enjoy life without all the things you had to worry about being 20..30..40 this is the time of your life. go rent a hot rod car and drive up the coast . in the mountians or any place that sounds fun.

I'm 53 and single and am ever so happy that I am. I go out with men I knew in school. Guys who have been my friends since my teens. Some of them are widowed, others are divorced and not the type of divorced men you speak of...but then those are probably only the type of me YOU are attracted to and who YOU attract. Of coures I'm not looking for marriage or a permanent relationship either. I don't want to live with anyone, I like my life just as it is.
