Yes Sir it is. We have over 40 million people who do not have health care and it is breaking the Medicare, Medicade and welfare banks. This is why, we need a national health care plan You can call it what ever you want, but it's time we have caught up with, Canada, England, Germany and all the other countries who have national health. Call it socialized if you like but it will save lives and money.

The USA has the best Health Care in the world for the very wealthy and the very poor. The middle class pays for it! I had a small business until last year. I am diabetic so I was uninsurable but otherwise I was pretty healthy. Then I got kidney stones Went to ER they pulled almost 300 of them out of my bladder but while the did so I had a major heart attack and showed symptoms of CHF. 4 surgeries later, I get a combined bill of 250,000+ from hospital, Doctors, Anesthesiologist, etc. Still alive though so I guess it was worth it. Oh, yeah I did paperwork for hospital and showed proof on income over last 3 years. and Hospital bill of 152,398.67 was dropped to 21,253.87. Which is what the hospital stay actually costs. The rest was to help offset those who do not pay a dime!

They say that there are 33 Million Americans without healthcare. In a nation that has 300 million that is not that bad of a statistic. BUT, It was once said.. “There are lies, damn lies, and statistics” -Twain.
I even have a FORM of healthcare. BUT I do not currently have ENOUGH health care. MANY people in the USA LACK a good quality healthcare provider system.
The 90’s - In 1995 my healthcare provider left my state. I was paying approx. $180.00 per month for a plan that would COVER ME COMPLETELY on any type of injury or illness, 100%… My TOTAL out of pocket expense would have been $750.00. I was able to pick my doctors. This was called an Indemnity plan. TODAY the same plan would run you about $1000.00 per month.
I see people today that pay $300.00 - $900.00 dollars per month for healthcare and if a catastrophic event happened. (Heart attack, Stroke, Cancer) They would be left with thousands of dollars in medical bills. I’m talking TEN to FIFTY THOUSAND dollars in bills.
Now there STILL is the “FREE” community hospitals. But you have to take whatever doctor is available and whatever treatment they may want you to take. Wait in long lines, (sometimes 3 hours or more), for treatments and appointments.
YES. WE NEED COVERAGE
The Democratic Congress this year just passed the NEW 2007 spending bill.. Raising the AID to foreign countries for AIDS (HIV ETC…) to 4.5 BILLION, A veterans lobby won a $3.6 billion increase for medical care. INCREASE, that isn’t the total folks.
That’s just 8.1 BILLION dollars of OUR TAXPAYERS money. Truly, WHY can’t AMERICAN VETERANS seek healthcare at the NATIONS BEST PRIVATE hospitals? Why do they have to go to a VA? Many people I’ve talked to across the USA do not like the VA. The numbers say there are right under 2 million Vets than need care. JUST by using the INCREASE figure that would be about $1800.00 per vet per year.

One of the best health care systems in the world - Fact.
Those that deny this are sadly mistaken, have a chip on their shoulder or are closet socialists, Marxists. They will drag up tons of statistics: infant mortality, longevity, etc, that puts the U.S. in a lower category than say, Canada or Sweden.....but it's a red herring.....it's a great, but imperfect system.
Is heathcare a right? Nope. sorry - neither is an education.
But the U.S. provides you an opportunity to EARN enough $$ to buy these things. Good luck - work hard and you'll be rewarded - or you can sit and moan and whine about how unfair the system is. Every society has someone who isn't happy.

Of course it is! Those who do not have health concerns may not see this.
Doctors today are loosing there credibility. To much of the pharmaceutical companies money is involved in what medications are handed out, regardless of the side effects. The majority of doctors out there are not concerned with there patients, but who can line there pockets with money.....

There isnt a lack of health care, simply the doctors, medical Institutions and HMOs have made it so expensive that only the rich can access it.
If America used it taxes on its people instead of stupid unwinnable wars then they could change that.
In Australia our taxes provide for FREE hospital, FREE medical visits to the doctor and in some cases FREE dental.

Lack of it, yes, for some people. Also, health care itself is a major problem, with doctors making money by over-prescribing drugs and treatments to suck up insurance money.
HillaryCare is what folks are crying about now - and somehow she expects us to trust her again?

Not as much as the media lead us to believe. Between Medicare, Medicaid, & county clincs & emergency rooms, everyone has access to medical care. It is the pay me now or pay me later theory. We can enlarge our Medicaid system or be stuck with large bills at hospital emergency rooms. Anyone without medical care is not seeking it diligently.
