Stoning was very common back then..... come on.... i didn't say anything bad about Jesus.

If that sounds weird, just think how strange wearing a cross around ones neck would have looked before Jesus died. If someone saw that, they would have said, "What are you? some kind of creep? "
Not too different from the responses it gets today, now that I think about it.

Or they would have stuck with the Icthus, or developed some other symbol. The stone would actually be quite a good symbol in your scenario as it would have duel signifigence - the instrument of the "redemptive death," and a symbol of the stone roled away from the tomb.

in Islam they claim he did not died on the cross but something like natural death so they put nothing around their necks and you see no crosses on Islamic churches.

By your logic, we must really wear nails around our neck since it was His crucifixition and subsequent suffocation due to his hanging from the cross. Your logic doesn't make sense, very faulty.
