I have been feeling weak and feverish all day and my stomach hurts, so I think I have the flu. But I am in college and I went to the 2 classes I had today, then i went to the cafeteria and ate a piece of pizza, fries, and a salad and drank tea, then later on I went back for dinner and had another piece of pizza, an apple, and lemonade. After this I went to the computer lab for awhile, then I was going to go back to the dorm room but I thought since I felt so sick I should stop by the little on campus store and get something to drink. I was going to get orange juice, but then I saw chocolate milk, and they NEVER have chocolate milk, so i just got chocolate milk instead. But will chocolate milk really help me at all if i have the flu? Also, will the fact that I ate pizza and fries make my flu worse?

Avoid any dairy or other items which are likely to trigger an allergic reaction and make your flu worse. Pizza is typically covered in cheese and then you down chocolate milk. Both are bad choices at the best of times. Drink other liquids, plenty of water or orange juice.

Humans are the only animal that drinks milk past infancy, and then it's not even from the correct species! Too many people are still trying to defend milk's supposed health benefits. Unfortunately, they are either using old information or information obtained from research funded by the dairy association. How many people would enjoy a glass of dog's milk or rat's milk? What makes cows special?

There are only two reasons which I've found to support humans drinking cow's milk. We have grown up hearing that it's good for us and we've grown accustomed to the taste and texture. There is absolutely no nutrition that can not be obtained elsewhere, minus the negatives. Calcium seems to be the major claim for milk. It can be found elsewhere in green vegetables, almonds, and many other sources. Where do you think the cows obtain the calcium to put into the milk? Where do other larger animals (elephants, horses, deer, whales, etc) get calcium? Why we continue to drink cow's milk laced with growth hormones, antibiotics, and who knows what else is beyond me.

Since I've given up drinking milk about 5 years ago my health has greatly improved. I suffer fewer allergy problems, asthma and breathing problems are greatly reduced, I'm sleeping better, and I have more energy.

In the '50s smoking was considered harmless but now we realize its dangers. One person at a time and eventually the truth will become widely known that cow's milk is only for baby cows. Milk is indeed the perfect food, but only for infants of the proper species.

Do some research online and decide for yourself.

Milk often increases phlegm production. So if you're already stuffy and/or if your head is congested, the milk -- chocolate or otherwise -- may not be the best thing for you. Maybe save it for later if you have a mini fridge?

It's unlikely that the pizza and fries are going to actually make you more sick. You may, however, want to consider healthier choices for the time being... just to sort of help your body along with healing. I can understand why comfort foods would be appealing when you feel so rotten, though.

Eating greasy foods when your stomach is nauseous may not help keep the food down. The milk should actually coat your stomach and settle it to some extent. Tyr the usual standby of soups, those broths can be very easy for your stomach to digest. And make sure you get lots of rest---at least 8 hours a night if not more. What did "mom" do when you were sick? those are the best ideas i have for you.

Try to avoid dairy when you're sick. Fatty foods like pizza and fries are not such a good idea when you're suffering from the flu. Instead, I would recommend easy to eat foods like soup. For beverages, I would say tea with lemon is the best idea.

If you are ill with either the stomach flu (gastroenteritis) or influenza (respiratory infection) you should not drink chocolate milk. The milk will upset your stomach if you have a stomach bug and if you have a respiratory infection, milk helps produce more phlegm, which can make you more miserable.

You need to stick with juice, Gatorade, or ginger ale. Don't drink water for it will upset your stomach too.

I've never heard of chocolate milk being a cure for the flu, but it doesn't hurt to try it. If you're feeling really lousy and it makes you feel better, then chocolate milk is a good idea. Besides, you're sick...you're entitled to baby yourself. Drink up!

You shouldn't drink milk if you have a fever, only clear liquids, which includes colas. If you do have the flu, you probably won't be keeping that pizza for long.

Well when you drink milk your body produces mucus to help break down the casein in milk (which is also used to make gule). Not to mention milk is filled with hormones and pus. the average liter of milk has 323 million pus cells. also milk and dairy can throw off your bowel movements. so when your sick the milk or dairy REALLY wont be good.

Try drinking something with lemon in it like tea or three teaspoons lemon juice mixed with honey or sugar. When you go to bed cover up very well because you will sweat the flu out of your body
