If I needn't worry about food and clothing, I would take a set of Encyclopaedia Brittanica and educate myself. And since there would be no one else on the island, I wouldn't be labelled as a nerd! Then once I was saved, I could show off my immense knowledge.

A Texas toothpick...it's a large knife, bigger than a butcher knife but not as big as a machete...can use it to cut wood for fire and shelter, reeds for traps and ties, tie it to a stick for use as a spear, etc., etc., etc. I would have shelter and food if I had my Toothpick with me...
