Oh, and this has absolutely nothing to do with the question, but its funny as hell ... I just had a christian tell me that it was a sin to be metrosexual.

Thank you, Don S. I take being far away from the norm as a compliment. And that comment about a pansexual getting off while doing the dishes -- that was absolutely priceless! I loved it.

Your question assumes that satan has enough control over your mind to put thoughts in there. The only way satan can put thoughts into your mind is if you let him.
Assuming that you were weak minded enough, you would never know the difference between a thought of your own and one that was put there by satan. The easiest way to know is to consider the impact on yourself and others around you if you were to act on it. If it will harm someone, yourself included, in any way, odds are it was a thought put there by satan.
This, of course, is assuming you were christian. Any negative, harmful thought could be said to have been put there by whatever satan equivalent exists in other religions.

It's a way of speaking. I don't think Satan can put thoughts in our heads. However, he can make suggestions. Someone has made the following comparison: "You can't keep birds from flying over your head, but you can prevent them from nesting in your hair". We have a responsibility for the thoughts we entertain.
However as Satan is a spirit, he can "mess with our thoughts". The ultimate responsibility is ours.
EDIT:
As to your further comment: hmmmm - did the Christian know what metrosexual meant? Perhaps he thought it meant something it wasn't.
I was once a caddy master, working in French (my second language) in an area where they had some of their own expressions. I wanted to tell a small caddy to take a client who had a golf bag on wheels (not everybody had them back in the 60's). I said the equivalent of: "Here, you! take that drunk!" I made a hit with the caddies. In fact I couldn't figure out why i suddenly became so popular. Problems of mistaken language!

Just take one look at your profile and you will have your answer. You love animals yet hate Christians.Your a pansexual , I guess that means you get off while doing the dishes.Your mad a someone for telling you that metrosexual is a sin.Your as far out of the norm as someone can get.I'm 51 years old,I have committed about every sin known to man.But I have no idea what your talking about.I would like to encourage you to stop listening to that little voice in your head and do something that might indicate that you are still among the living.Being a Christian might just surprise you.

Satan puts thoughts in your head if those thoughts happen to go against anything the christian in question is thinking.

So, whatever opinion you may have that differs from this christian's opinion, satan must have done it. Otherwise you would only think godly thoughts and be in agreement with the christian in question.

It is nothing more than wishful projection on the part of the non-articulate christian.

If anyone truly believes that they are nutty as a fruitcake. They have a the same choices everyone else does. To do right or wrong is simply a matter of choice. It is as simple as that. To pretend that an action was or is influenced by Satan is nothing more than an attempt to lessen the blame on ones self.

Specifically how do you put thoughts in your head? Are all or any of the thoughts or suggestions you process daily really yours? The identity of the thought is part of understanding the process.

Satan's thoughts are either accusatory or excusatory in nature and spring from the hearts of men who were conceived in sin and born speaking lies. "Put" into your head is "putting it mildly."

very easy, all human emotion and desire is translated by Christians as sin. therefore any thought that you have must be sinful and of the devil. Satan does not have to put thoughts into your head, just give you something "tempting" to think about.

Most of the time, he speaks to you, and leaves you with the impression that it was your own thought process.
However it is not Satan, but a demon spirit - one of his lackeys. Satan holds general sway over the whole attitude and value system of the present world order. He operates by domination, manipulation, intimidation and seduction.
