Good to try to make it interesting and different, but as everyone has said, a few pointers.

1. Make your eyes the focus of your photograph. It is too distracting to have them blurry or out of focus.

2. Set up a tripod, place an object where you will be sitting and then focus on that. Set the timer, this way you don't have to hold the camera yourself while taking the picture. You'll be able to step away from the camera and get a better focus

3.Set up lighting instead of using the flash off the camera, that way you won't have a white nose and you'll hopefully get rid of the line shadow underneath your chin.

I'd say the makeup is a bit too distracting. Try working without it and focus on the expression your eyes can give just by themselves, it could be more powerful and less literal.

First of all - I wouldn't say you are a photoshop whore - that would imply you are somewhat good with photoshop. Changing the image to black and white and bringing out color in eyes doesn't mean a thing. With that outta the way -

Your portraits aren't that good. There is no proper lighting - the composition isn't there - the posing is ugh - the framing is centered (what you do when you don't know how to properly frame the subject).

The blurred effect is quite lame in this case as it doesn't enhance the photo at all.

Those are very very beautiful.. makes me want to jump on in the picture and throw some leaves around or go swimming! You are a natural, mine would be all crooked an goofy looking. You could actually sell those for post cards or something, if you edited the date out. Next time you take some pics make sure the date is gone. Anyhow great work :)

if you want to go with the B&W burning the edges will definitely bring out the eyes.

With a B&W with colored eyes, the design on the shirt distracts from the eyes.

For a color shot, try a different colored shirt. Try a dull red hue to really complement the eyes. The all blue shirt really takes the weight to the bottom of the photo.

Also, they eyes need to be in focus. Try a shallow depth of field (Focused on the eyes, but blurred in any distance closer or further from the lens)

My favorite is the last one, just make sure it is in focus!

Hope I helped!

Not my cup of tea.
Out of focus, (NOT in a good way)
Specular highlights out of control
Bad framing and composition
Very poor amateurish effort, with both the photography and the photoshopping
Just because it looks different doesn't make it in any way artistic.
But keep practicing, obviously you enjoy this, and practice is how you learn. (That, and maybe a good book on basic photography!)

Things to work on:

Lighting - the lighting looks flat
Composition - the framing is OK, but it can be better
Focus - something has to be in focus, which is usually the eyes.

Thjose were terrific efforts :) keep up with the rpacticing. i did like the 3rd one best. with B&W it helps with a sharper defined image then you can play around witht he coloring. Ideally, the eyes would match the shirt.

Keepit up and you can go from photoshop whore to mistress :)
