For some reason my last question didn't post. I reformatted the C: drive on a Windows ME computer using a boot disk I created from bootdisk.com, and I keep searching for what to do next. Everything says to "follow the instructions". WHAT INSTRUCTIONS?! Can someone please give me some instructions on how to do this?

Gee, thanks. Look people, I just want to restore the ME back to the way it was when I got it. I don't want your suggestions on what to buy or whatever the heck, just tell me how to get it back the way it was.
I have no choice in the matter, okay?

As for the system itself I have a Dell Dimension Desktop, about 19 Gigs HD space (embarrassing I know, but it worked for a long time.) and I'm not really sure what else to write about it.

Reformat it again, but this time use XP.

ME is a horrible OS, and has numerous problems. Honestly, since you've reformatted, don't go back to ME.

Consider a new hard drive at this time. Your pc is old and a new drive is cheap. You probably need it.

If you don't have an image of your Windows ME when you first got it, you can not restore it to that state.

You've formatted C: , it's now a blank disk. You can only install a fresh copy of Windows ME now.

After formatting, at the A: prompt type 'SYS C:' to make your C: drive bootable.

Change to the CD-ROM drive letter, and type setup at the command prompt to begin the WinME installation.

just install Windows 98

put that reboot diskette

Put the Windows 98 CD ( do you have one?)

reboot

Your system might not be suitable fir Windows Xp, so this is not an option

Pls tell us more on your memroy, HD space, CPU etc
