They have released Vista--- but in the real life it is a Beta form,, so i would not expect to have in on a PC and rely on it until next year,, they will fix all the bugs by then, i have upgraded myself and reverted back to XP pro,,,, so has most of my friends,, i suggest to go back to your favorite OS and wait,.. i hope this helps you -- good luck

Your 1999 game may not be compatible with Vista! I always try to advise people to let any microsuck release sit in the market place for at least 6 months before they buy it. This allows the public that did buy it to report the THOUSANDS of bugs to microsuck so that they can star to repair them.

windows vista is the worst operating system i have ever used. microsoft has had some troubles in the past but they really botched it this time. they sacrifice functionallity for their gay *** graphics and fancy features. i had to upgrade almost all of my hardware just to run it. now it says i need a new graphics card so save your $300 bucks and stick with xp or if you get an new one roll with mac. did you try your game in compatibilaty mode? rightclick properties compatability select windows xp sp 2

Windows Vista is your problem. It uses Dirext X 10.0 and not only that not everything is compatible. You need to upgrade all your drivers to all you hardware. On top of that Aero uses more memory... Windows XP is still more reliable then Vista.

Try disabling Aero on your system--that uses a lot of graphic resources and RAM. Saerch for Aero in Windows help and it will tell you how to disable that feature.
