I work out a lot, and I assume it must be a bunch. But as simply a question of interest, I'd like to know how much I burn (glucose out of muscles and liver, bloodstream, a little fat maybe, how much muscle tissue is actually broken down itself, etc.) per workout. the more specific the formula, the happier I get. Will it get into body types, BMI, weight, reps, amounts of sets of one exercise, each exercise in the workout... A web reference would be greatly appreciated to where I can analize this issue to my meticulous heart's desire. Thank you very much.

Bodybuilding.com has a calculator that allows you to enter your weight and then choose the type of activities you are interested in (you'll want to select "Conditioning Exercises Only".) It will then return an estimated number of calories burned based on your weight and workout time. The have one for weight training (both moderate and high intensity.)

Just for reference, a 185 pound male who did an intensive, 60 minute weight training workout would burn around 539 calories an hour.

It really depends on how intensely you work while lifting weights, but, since it is strength training, and not cardio, you will not burn too many calories directly.
However, it will build muscle tissue, which will, in turn increase your metabolism, causing you to burn more calories. But to burn any serious amount of calories, you must also do cardio excercises.
Circuit training, as opposed to consecutive sets, will burn more calories in that you are moving,even while giving other muscles a rest.

Calories are essential in your life!!! Don't waste your time watching calories!! Limit the carbohydrates you consume!! Your body will burn carbs first, so if you don't have any carbs to burn, your body will go straight to the stored fats. Trust me, it works. You need to drink a lot of water to make yourself feel full, and do a lot of cardio. Cardio isn't stressed enough; it is the single most important step in losing weight.

haha oh man... sorry, i dont really have a specific answer for your question, but LOVED what you said about the supplements and jesus.. haha...

i hate when people on here bash like that, when its really because they know NOTHING of the subject and just go along with thinking that its all bad... heh...

but sorry man, can't say i know the specifics of what exercise does what and how much tissue it burns. just lift to see the results with my eyes! haha take care.
