(Why? Atheism is about the disbelief of deities)

I am an agnostic theist Wiccan.

1. If proof for or against the existence of god were ever found, it would certainly be in the news. This has never happened. We don't know, so I am an agnostic.

2. I believed or sensed the existence of a higher power since a very young age, without having had any exposure to religion of any kind. Hence, I am a theist.

3. Science - the factual, the known, the tested - is not debatable. Thus it is religion that must adjust to science, and not the other way around. Therefore, I am not a member of any of the mainstream faiths which reject science.

4. The universe is an extremely complex construct. Thus, I believe a higher power has had a hand in its creation. This does not conflict with science in any way.

5. If I am not my body and not my mind, but rather the owner of these things, I must have a soul. That soul was created but cannot be destroyed. Thus, I believe in an afterlife. Actually, afterlives.

6. It makes no sense for any deity to create beings that will displease it. Thus, I do not believe in sin. Nor do I believe in absolute good or evil, for what is good for one may be evil for another.

7. Deity is also extremely vast and complex; humans are incapable of understanding it fully. However, we've gotten glimpses of it, and these have been interpreted into the various religions. No religion has it completely right; all have grains of truth. Hence my belief that all paths are valid - that there is no one true path, but many paths to the source.

1. Many religions preach outdated beliefs, such as men are superior to women, which I cannot accept.

2. While relgions do vary greatly in details, all that I am aware of have simliar ideas concerning what makes a "good" or "bad" person. I feel that if there is a God, he will not punish a good person for following the wrong religion or no religion at all.

3. Looking at history, relgion tends to serve a purpose of explaining the unknown and reinforcing social values through the existance of some God. For example, we are here because God made us; if you don't follow his word, you will burn in Hell.

4. If some supreme power exists, strong enough to have created the universe and life, I have to assume it is too complex for the human mind to comprehend, and that any simplification by an organized religion is not realy the truth anyways.

5. While faith is a wonderful thing, organized religion has lead to a lot of unnecessary violence (witch trials, the Inquisition, etc...)

6. Bottom line is, no one can actually know whether or not God exists until they have passed away, so while I am alive I choose to be a good person without worrying which religion is "correct."

Those are my 6 factors for why I am agnostic... don't have a 7th.

There's only three, actually.

Deists believe the probability that God exists is greater than 50%, agnostics believe it's exactly 50%, and atheists believe it's less than 50%. Simple.

There aren't 7 factors, just one: absolute lack of evidence in support of the existence of a deity. No evidence=no reason to believe.

I believe the concept of God is illogical; that is the God that has been defined to have contradicting traits. People attempt to explain his purpose and claim to have a personal relationship with him. God is without scientific supports and in fact defies the laws of science. The bible is the only support for Christianity and it is a joke.-Atheist

But I don't deny the existence of a supernatural being and if it does exist, it is beyond my comprehension. In our world, nothing is what it seems, and when it comes down to it, we don't know know anything. -Agnostic

I consider myself to be a little of both, but the real thing to call me is a freethinker, people just don't ever know what that is.

why 7 factors?

I am agnostic because I choose to be. I made this decision after many weeks of deliberation and study of many religions and conversations with my peers.

There is only one factor.
The fact that you accept other people's words without questioning them.
