My school is scheduled to take the NAEP test, which the nation uses to rank schools all over and order their states accordingly. Some of the kids in my class said that they just weren't going to take it, which would result in a zero for them. They are sharp kids, but they lack effort.

Do you think that the educational problems in Mississippi are caused by the teachers or the students themselves?

i am from mississippi and where i live the teachers are excellent and you couldnt ask for better.....as for the problems with education....i think the majority of the problems lie with the parents.....they dont take time with their children like they should and they expect teachers to be miracle workers...but it doesnt happen like that....they lack discipline and the kids have no respect for authority because their parents do not make them behave and show respect for others like people used to......so if you aske me the problem is the students and the problems started at home....

The laziness is caused by the 'southern life style'.
Sharp kids do NOT have to take the NAEP test because colleges are only interested in GPA's.
