I guess so. God supposedly inspired the bible but didn't do a good job of it. Man misinterpreted it, misused it, and all that hoo ha. If God would have done a good enough job in the first place all mankind would know of his almighty presence and there would be no need for further modification.

That question assumes God made mistakes, which He didn't. Jesus was sent to save men from their sins. He was flesh and blood and His life had a purpose and a plan which He fulfilled. Through Jesus, even us sinners can now attain Heaven even though we don't deserve it. God gave us a gift, a way... the only way, all we have to do is accept that gift!

Presumably not, since God is supposed to be omniscient, and shouldn't be able to make mistakes.

Edit: yet "He" did. Since he apparently thought both the sun and moon produced light: "And God made two great lights; the greater to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also" (Genesis, Chapter 1, v. 16).

He also didn't understand how the planet he created works, as He says He: "Divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. (Genesis, Chapter 1, v. 7)

It is my opinion that the only mistake in the bible was our interpretation of the written word. Due to both ignorance, and most importantly laziness, we defer the message to be recited instead of absorbed by reading. God created us in his own image. Upon the realization we could not even come close to his most pessimistic hopes, he came in the context of a mortal. Suffered the epitome of suffering so we could live.

That...doesn't make any sense. Muhammad was sent to fix man's mistakes in the Bible - if you're getting names mixed up.
