A lot of parents and teenagers have conflicts, but they get closer as time goes on. You are older now and more mature. Sounds like your dad can be difficult, but it's not a lost cause. Decide how much of a relationship you would like to have with him. Let him know you are uncomfortable but maybe see him for a short lunch out or just a phone call. If his behavior is abusive, cut it short.

I am 30 and i just recently met up with my dad ,, and i will not be seeing him again he is an alco and didnt even talk much but my point is feel it from your heart and give it a go he is your dad i have been trying for 10 years for my dad to take notice of me , but it didnt work my advise is talk about everything and let him know that you dont like him yelling at you , and try but if all fails i feel for you cause i know what its like !

Yes, it may seem to late for a father after 20 years to want to start a relationship with his daughter but I think that you should give him a chance. Don't ignore him just start off slow, like meeting for lunch or something small.

Whatever age you are, it is not to late.
It only becomes to late when one of you is dead. Then it way to late.
It may not work out, but give it a good try and don't hold grudges. It will only hurt you.
