In the movie Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest, Johnny Depp's character, Captain Jack Sparrow, says:
"A dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly, it's the honest ones you want to watch out for..."

My question is what does he mean by this?
And how can I argue FOR and AGAINST the quote? (being used in a class debate and I need to know how to support the quote or prove it's wrong or something.)
Lots of examples and explanations would be great.
Thanks!

A dishonest man will always be dishonest. He is always lying and therefore it can be determined that he will always lie. He will not change his ways for anything or anyone. By asking a dishonest man a question, you can set yourself up for the answer. If you want to hear a positive answer, then you would the question so that he would give you one.
An honest man will tell the truth without regard to anyone's feelings and/or expectations. He will be blunt and to the point. That is why you want to watch out for them. The honest cannot hold a secret will tell the truthful answer to any question asked.

Think about the scene in which he says this quote. He's trying to steal a ship from the two British guards, and he tells them his entire plan but they don't believe him because they think because he's a pirate he'd never tell the truth.
So I guess the quote may have something to do with prejudice and the idea that people aren't always what they seem.
There's an interesting short story, and now I've forgotten what it's called or who it's by, but it's about a man who's always worked for the same company, always been totally honest, never smoke or drank or stole or done anything remotely wrong in his life. And then this new woman starts working for the company and she's really mean and she keeps spreading lies about his friends and getting them fired, and finally he decides he has to do something about it. So he buys some wine and goes to her apartment and gets drunk with her and I think he also smokes while he's there and ends up sleeping with her. And the next day she tells everyone at work, but because it's so uncharacteristic of him everyone thinks she's lying and the boss finally realizes that she's a liar and fires her (even though in this case she was actually telling the truth!). Dunno if that'll help or not, but it's an interesting story and might be something to think about.

Well, he's showing his pirate attitude. For: its funny, its cool, its badass, its Sparrow
Against: who wants to trust a dishonest guy? Like I'd rely on him... why watch the honest ones? they didn't do anything.
