I also have medium brown hair and its REALLY thick (I'm 15). I usually straighten my hair too. It really depends on how much time you are willing to spend on it, and what texture your hair is. I wouldn't get pixie cut bangs because with thick hair it will be strange. I would say (depending on how long it is now) get a cut that brushes your shoulders or goes just below your shoulders with loads of layers and side bangs. If your hair is curly and you want to listen to my advice, get a dry cut because it will be much shorter (if you get it cut wet) when it's dry, you will be surprised. Good luck!! But remember don't let people talk you into something you don't want. Your hair is your "permanent" accessory, you can't change it as often as you can change your purse!

You didn't say how long it is, but it sounds as tho you could have it thinned out a little bit. If there is a beauty school close by, you could get an appointment for a style cut and a shaping. For a 12 year old. shoulder length would be nice, and if naturally curly, this length would be a lot easier to care for. Try not to use chemicals or irons, as they can overprocess and cause breakage. Good to know that you are taking pride in your appearance and want to look your best. Best wishes

If your hair is really thick, why don't you go to the hairdresser and ask them to thin it out, there are special scissors that they can use to make it lighter. My cousin had the most amazing thick hair when she was about your age and that's what she had to do, since all she could do with her hair was wear it in a braid.

You need to get your hair thinned out with thinning shears and razor cut to your shoulders. I have thick hair and this helped A LOT with all of the buk.

french braids, or pig tail braids. or just pig tails. some days just go with a pony tail. if your hair is wavy, let it be like that. anybody can straighten their hair, so be different and cute. you could do a bun too, or get layers/ and or bangs. talk with your mom or hair dresser.

Go watch GI Jane... lol but how about what the latinas do with that curly moose s***? For example my friend Martina... she's young too. And it looks really hot. The only bad thing is you can't run your fingers through it :/ it does look good though.

Well... I'm 13 and I found that getting bangs and pulling them back on top of your scalp doesn't take much time or effort. Try getting it tapered or layered. I hope this helps!!

Go to a hairdresser.. sit on the chair.. and say " can you give me hair-style that will suit my face"?

In other words.. seek professional help.
