Right after I got my braces, I went and ate a soft potato curl, it hurt so bad. Don't eat anything except for liquid foods or extremely soft foods for the first week, then gradually start to eat harder foods.
When you get the tightened it hurts. Sometimes more than others. Take tyenol when you get the braces tightened and it'll help relieve the pain.
Soft Foods examples:
+Mashed potatos and gravy
+Ice Cream
+Ramen noodles
+Soup
+Yogurt

Braces move your teeth, so when you get them on the first time and when you go back each time for tightening, your teeth are really sore. It hurts to chew, but it is nothing unbearable. Just uncomfortable. The wires can stick you in the gums, but that is what wax is for.......Overall, the pain you feel is far less important than they beautiful straight teeth you will have in the end!

Yes, braces hurt when you first have them placed. The pain usually lasts about a week at the most. You will also have pain when you go to have them adjusted or tightened.

It's not that bad, calm down. The worst part is getting used to the braces and keeping them off of your lips. You will get used to it and it can be uncomfortable in the beginning, but I wouldn't call it painful. Good Luck. It's worth it, you are going to have a GORGEOUS smile when it's over.

Pain is relative. I didn't think they hurt and I have a very low pain tolerance. They are a bit uncomfortable the first few days you get them and when you get the rubber bands replaced each month. Otherwise, you don't even feel them.

YES, definatley when you first get them on. If someone says they don't/didnt, they are lying. Your teeth have to "loosen" up so they are able to be moved. So that cause pain. ALOT honest. You cant eat for a week.
