Overall it's important, but for different positions and styles it has different importance. For example, for goalies, it's extremely important. For a power forward or big tough D-man it's less important. For a dangler or sniper it's very important. Having said that it's important for every position, just for some styles it's more important. I think that agility and plyometrics are more important because skating is the most important part of hockey. I would spend more time working on that. Hand-eye will help you with smaller thinks such as reaction time, stickhandling, passing accuracy, and shooting accuracy. If you want to train for any sport you should spend time on all skills, with emphasis on things you want to improve the most.
