My measurements are 35-27-40 and I was wondering, are my hips totally out of proportion with the rest of me? The other measurements I see on here seem to stay in a closer range (like 38-33-42 or 32-25-34) Is there anything you can do to make your hips smaller? I know they're bones and all but if you know anything...

Thanks!

You sound a little bottom heavy. You could try slimming down if you are simply carrying too much weight around your hips, but it's possible that is just the way your frame is shaped.

You sound like you have a really good shape, a small waist and just happen to have ample hips. Easier childbirth at least, maybe? Unfortunately you can't just slim your hips, to lose some bum you've gotta do cardio exercise involving the whole body. You could tone up the area doing squats, lunges, etc, but you sound perfectly normal to me.

some people are more hippy-have a round back side. that is normal. you are still fairly proportional, and the good news is that your pear shaped body means you have a LOT lower risk for a heart attack or other heart health problems

You should get yourself the free Science of Fat DVD. It will show you how the brain and body regulate weight and why some people are hefty while others are lean.
