The too dry idea may be right. I'm really not sure. Are you putting on one thin coat? When they do it on TV the first coat is really bad. The wall shows through. When they go back for the second coat it's gorgeous.

I'm affraid she's right...it's too dry. The mixture you have could be so thick that it's hard to stir to the right consistency. If you don't have that just right...not only will you end up w/ cracks...you'll end up with holes and little flacky patches which will show inconsistencies on your walls. The best bet is to probably scoop out several batches(4or5) at a time, carefully stirring each time. In the end you want the plaster to have a nice smooth texture that goes on evenly...not too wet...not too dry. Good luck w/ that!

Your mixture is too dry, creating too much weight and not enough of an adhesive blend.....
