I know this is a strange thing to do.... I was also addicted to them. first step was to watch the movie Super Size me. then I did the strangest thing ever. I went to the store and got some real potatoes. and I made some mashed potatoes. they were the tastiest thing I ever had and then I started to cook at home not just for me but the family and then I was Hooked I started doing the home cooked meal it brought the family together. if your all alone try to invite your neighbor or a elderly person for dinner. son you too will be Hooked on home cooked meals like we are. now I make things like white bean chicken chili. and let me tell you no restaurant can compare to home made foods.
OH also you might be addicted to the salt. try foods that have light salt that might be just what you need. remember go easy on the SALT OK

I agree with the person who said you could be hooked on salt. I went cold turkey from fast foods for about a month, which included most of the salty foods I enjoyed. I haven't had McDonalds fries in probably 4 months, and I only had them then because I craved them. I haven't wanted them since, or really anything salty at all. I'll be honest, my mom and my friends know I was "addicted" to salt - and now I eat it hardly on ANYTHING. Salt contains sodium which makes your body retain water, which makes you look bloated. That's what I keep in mind.

Apple dippers at McDonalds are also very tasty!!!

well , you could try using duct tape to cover your mouth ( just kidding) how about this. Tell yourself that you are allergic to McDonald's french fries, and they make you break out in fat. Or do a search on the internet for pictures of clogged arteries , and picture that image in your head every time you want to indulge in them. But, most importantly .............don't deny yourself of them completely or you will want them even more. Allow yourself a serving of them once a week. For those times that you crave those french fries pop a mint in your mouth or grab a carrot and think about something else. Good Luck !!
Ps. Have a look at some of the images i provided in the link below.

Stop going to McDonalds?

Keep a few bags of something healthy (that you also like) in the car. When you think about stopping to get fries or any other fast food, munch on those instead and keep driving. Check the cracker aisle at the grocery store, there's lots of wheat products that are tasty.

You can watch Supersize Me, which will probably turn you off from McDonald's for a long time.
