When you scan the pictures, you need to take note of where the computer is storing them. Also, what 'format' are you saving them in? JPG, MPG, ???
Have you read the manual to the scanner?
What software are you using to scan and edit with?

A scanner will scan the picture/ document that you place in the tray ( face down towards the printer). It will take a few moments. A preview of the scan will come up. You can reline or adjust and re-scan then if you so choose. From there you choose to either print it or to save it to your documents or pictures. Basically a scanner is used to import and save an image or text document into your computer.Check in your owners manual about different settings. Start out with the default settings until you get comfortable with things. Then when you have some spare time .... : ) ......you can experiment with some of your options for different things that you are scanning.

Move your MY Documents folder to the desktop and put your pictues in that folder. you can move them later or create a new folder in my documents just for pictures. You can select a file by clicking on the browse button at the file name prompt. Then highlight mydocuments and put them in there.

Duhhhhhhhh.........I am no genius, but maybe, just maybe, if you read the G0d D@mn manual you might rub those two little raisins in your "oh so precious" little brain together long enough to generate the heat necessary to fuel an actual solution on your own without posting your inadequacies on the internet for the world to heckle.
Your parents must be very proud of you.
