I think they should. My Dr. recommended mine to take them. She is one of the top ranked pediatricians in the world and she said she puts all her patients on vitamins. Just be sure not to give them vitamins with iron in them. This came straight from my Dr. Contact you child's pediatrician for more information.

My kids take flinstone vitamins now, they are 2 1/2 years old. I bought them myself. My pediatrician had them on vitamins when they were infants but stopped when they were 1 year old. I'm not sure why. I finally asked if there were any vitamins they should or could take, and the Pediatrician said that flinstones were ok after 2 years old, but i have heard of other vitamins called toddlers first, although i have not found them!! I would ask the childs Dr. if they recommend any.

My son started taking Flinstone Vitamins when he was two. They are called "My First Flinstones". They are designed for 2 and 3 year olds.
As for the regular Flinstone's Vitamins, it says on the package "for 4 year olds and up".

Most toddlers can take a multi vitamin. If you are concerned, discuss this with your doctor first. I give my son the Vita Bears from Melaleuca. They use a patented process called Fructose Compounding that helps their little bodies absorb the vitamins they are taking. I believe they are better than any vitamins purchased at the store.

Ask the child's peditrition, if the child has a regular healthy diet full of fruits and veggies the child should have all the needed vitimins and minerals he or she needs. Just remember you want them to eat a rainbow of colors of fruits and veggies a day.

my 2 year old takes 1/2 Flintstone a day. I think it is important especially if your child is a picky eater like mine.

The pediatrician tells me so. If you have a prescription plan have the doctor prescribe them. They are very cheap like .97 per month. If you have to buy them outright its 7.00 per month.

Flintstone Vitamins comes to mind. Here's their recommendations for 2 year olds, straight from their website:
_____________________________________________
What is the recommended dosage for 2-3 year of age?

We recommend following the dosage on the package. Directions for Flintstones products are:

Complete Formula
• Chew one half tablet daily.

Gummies & Sour Gummies
• Chew one Gummy daily.

We also recommend our My First Flintstones formula, specially formulated for children 2 to 3 years of age, with 10 essential nurients including vitamins A, C, and D, which are important for your child's healthy growth and development.

For children under 2 years of age, we recommend speaking with your physician.

With that said, personally, i think that if you provide a child with healthy well-balanced meals, the vitamins are unnecessary. If this isn't possible for any reason then I'm sure that vitamins are an important investment (hopefully it's for good reason, i.e. you are living on a fixed income or you're a busy single mom or dad who is overwhelmed with duties & unable to prepare fully balanced meals.
